It is good
to raise awareness about cancer and its symptoms is increasing day by day, but
you should not notice a bump had a panic some body part. Tumor arises when a
tissue begins to grow abnormally. The continuous and uncontrolled proliferation
of cells that did not help, does not have the physiological function is called
a "tumor". It is scientifically known as "tumor" refers.
Tumors can be benign, premalignant or malignant. Only malignant tumors are
cancer. Pre-malignant tumors show an increased risk of cancer. The following
section contains important information about the different features of benign
and malignant tumors.
Most
often, people misunderstand the term "tumor" and use it as a synonym
for "cancer". If the abnormally growing cells form tumors, invade
other types of neighboring cells and spread throughout the body via the blood
or lymph, because they are malignant tumors. A malignant tumor metastasis
(invades other organs), but not a benign tumor. The tumor, which has its origin
remains limited (which can spread) is called benign tumor. Growth of benign
tumor usually causes no problem and requires no treatment, but a large benign
tumor can damage adjacent tissues and organs, and can be harmful to them. A
benign tumor is the cause of a problem is surgically removed. In most cases of
benign tumor, once removed, does not grow back. Some benign tumors may later
cancer (so called pre-malignant), but these cases are very rare.
Malignant
tumors contain cancer cells. Malignant tumors can invade distant parts of the
body, particularly the lungs, liver, brain and bones. If a malignant tumor
starts to grow and expand into other areas that the area of its origin, is
called 'secondary' tumors. Thus, the growth of a malignant tumor with
"cancer growth." These tumors, when detected early can be surgically
removed. Even after surgical removal, there are chances of recurrence in
malignant tumors. Treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy help kill
remaining cancer cells.
Benign
tumors
These
days, women often face the problem of tumor in the uterus as a
"fibroid." This is a benign tumor of smooth muscle and is
scientifically known as "leiomyoma" known. Types of benign tumors
include:
• The
fluid-filled cysts (lumps)
• nodules
(as seen in arthritis)
• lipomas
(fatty deposits cells)
•
papilloma (developed from the inner membrane or skin cells)
•
Hemangioma (lumps due to excessive growth of blood vessels)
• fibromas
and fibroadenomas (pieces of cloth, or fibrous tissue and glandular)
• hematoma
(blood clot formed in the case of a leak large hematoma)
Benign
tumors can be fatal if they hamper the flow and the blood to vital organs like
the brain interfere. Benign tumors are more common in younger people than older
people.
Malignant
tumors
The odds
of malignant tumors increases with age. Breast cancer and prostate cancer are
among the most common cancers in women and men respectively. The number of
patients entering the brain, bone, liver, lung, colon and cancer of the cervix
diagnosed is increasing day by day. Blood tests and urine tests, MRI, CT,
ultrasound and biopsy to help diagnose cancer. Depending on the type of cell
that is similar to the tumor, the cancer is classified as follows:
• Cancer
(tumors develop in epithelial cells)
• sarcoma
(tumor tissue)
• Blastoma
(tumors develop in progenitor cells or embryonic tissue)
• germ
cell tumor (tumor formation in pluripotent cells)
• Lymphoma
and leukemia (cancer formation in hematopoietic cells).
Brain
tumors in children and adults can be benign or malignant, and both can lead to
serious consequences.
In most
cases, benign tumors to resolve on their own. If you have problems caused a
minor surgical procedure is necessary to remove them. But in most cases people
are simply "watch and wait" advice. However, malignant tumors require
coverage (eg, bone and soft tissue tumors) preserving the powerful drugs,
chemotherapy, radiotherapy and major surgery. For example, a tumor with a bone
from a donor bone is replaced and secured in its place a metal plate and
screws. The affected bone is replaced sometimes with a metal prosthesis. As
explained above, benign brain tumors, of life and function of blood poisoning.
You can be the cause of damage to important structures in the brain. But in
this case, surgery and radiotherapy (radiation can not be recommended for
certain benign non-invasive brain) is difficult. The treatment of each tumor
depends on the type, location, causes and symptoms. Cancer-like tumors have
more severe symptoms and have a great emotional impact on individuals.
Now that you
know how to distinguish a benign from a malignant tumor, you should not be
nervous or anxious after discovering a lump in the breast or elsewhere.
Instead, you should immediately consult a doctor and undergo the necessary
tests. Early diagnosis leads to a better prognosis, which in turn ensures a
better quality of life.
